About ipswich malayali association
The Ipswich Malayali Association (IMA) is a vibrant, not-for-profit community organisation dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage, traditions, and values of Kerala in the Ipswich region of Queensland.
Established in 2009 and formally incorporated in 2013, IMA has grown into a thriving community of over 260 families, bringing together people from diverse backgrounds through friendship, culture, and mutual support.
IMA serves as a platform for Malayalis and the wider community to celebrate festivals, nurture cultural traditions, encourage youth participation, and strengthen community bonds. Our events provide opportunities for families to connect, share experiences, and pass on Kerala’s unique heritage to future generations.
Throughout the year, IMA proudly organises major community celebrations, including Onam, Christmas and New Year festivities, Easter-Vishu gatherings, sports events, family outings, youth programs, and charitable initiatives. These activities reflect our commitment to fostering unity, inclusiveness, and a strong sense of belonging.
Beyond cultural celebrations, IMA actively supports community welfare initiatives and promotes social responsibility, encouraging members to contribute positively to the broader Ipswich community.
